Managing Bell Miner Associated Dieback on the NSW North Coast
Towards best practice management for landholders

Bell Miner Associated Dieback (BMAD) is listed as a key threatening process under the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act. It is known to directly impact threatened vegetation communities including Grey Box—Grey Gum Wet Sclerophyll Forest and White Gum Moist Forest in the NSW North Coast Bioregion and threaten the World Heritage values of the Gondwana World Heritage Area.

With funding from the Australian Governments Regional Land Partnership program and NSW Saving Our Species program, this project is establishing long-term trial sites to examine common methods of understorey control (fire, chemical and mechanical treatments). The aim is to refine Best Practice Management advice for landholders and public land managers who have BMAD affected and susceptible forest.
